Ah, here we are

Midway through the journey of our lives we found ourselves in a dense wood surrounded by an aged fence, a sign that everything in this life is passing away. Thanks be to God in Christ Jesus that we are not made for this life, because sometimes it really bites. Speaking of biting, why is it that everything has to eat to stay alive? In our case, this has become a topic of great import as we have attempted our hand at raising rabbits, quail, and a garden. No, the rabbits are not eating the garden--at least not yet. However, our rather foxlike hound dog is quite the hunter. He has added to the daily interest of trying to homestead.
On another note, why do people get so obsessed with leisure activities? For example, video games, Legos, Marvel, and other tv shows? Do they teach us something about the great beyond, or is it just a complete waste of time? In order to better understand and allow an outlet for the interests of our children, we have decided to let them participate in this family blog. It will not only hopefully help develop their writing skills as homeschoolers, but also be an activity that bonds our family. The homeschooled children are allowed the freedom here to explore their interests whether school related or not. While it would be wonderful for them to further their studies in Judeo-Christian history and its correspondence to other ancient civilizations, I suspect that this is more of interest to their parents than to the children. Ah well! Here we are, pilgrims all, on the way.
